Pursuing Shalom.<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Welcome to Presbyterian Discernment, an independent place for thoughtful conversation about Christian faith, the work of the Holy Spirit, and the life of the Presbyterian Church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our purpose is to explore how the Church can become more faithful in the way it listens, exercises authority, makes decisions, and cares for people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We believe faithful Christian discernment involves more than following established procedures or reaching defensible decisions. It calls us to seek truth, practice Christlike love, exercise accountability, and pursue <em>shalom<\/em>\u2014the wholeness and well-being of everyone affected by our decisions, including the Church itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here we will explore Scripture, Presbyterian theology and polity, the gifts and fruit of the Holy Spirit, and the practical challenges of ecclesiastical discernment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We welcome thoughtful questions, differing perspectives, and respectful disagreement. We do not claim to have all the answers.
